Master of European Studies - Governance and Regulation
With over 20 years of experience the Master of European Studies - Governance and Regulation offers international young professionals the knowledge and skills to understand the theoretical and practical workings of the European Union. The full time one-year master is taught in English by an international faculty of renowned academics and EU practitioners.

Program and Curriculum
The specialized curriculum includes 360 hours of basic and specialized modules. The modules are interdisciplinary; examining legal, economic and political science aspects of European integration.
The program has been successfully re-acredited four times and the current German Accreditation Council accreditation runs from 2020-2028.

Why the ZEI Master of European Studies?

International atmosphere
The small class has students from all over Europe and the world. 70% of our students come from outside of Germany. The international atmosphere leads to engaging discussion and intercultural exchange.

One-year program
The one-year full time program begins in October each year with classes until June. This is followed by a three month period to complete the Master thesis. Taught in English, students are not required to have German language skills.

Practical training
Along with academic theoretical perspectives, the master program focuses on practical skills and insights. This is conveyed through the career development program and through practitioners teaching the modules.

EU wide faculty
Our faculty of renowned academics and EU practitioners travel to Bonn from all over Europe. They teach their modules in intensive block seminars. Students benefit from a broad range of European perspectives and frames of reference.

Excursions
Experience European decision making in real life through our excursions. Excursions to Brussels, Luxembourg and Berlin also offer a chance to network with ZEI Alumni and visit a range of institutions and organizations.

Bonn, Germany's United Nations City
Bonn is a small modern international city; host to over 24 UN agencies and many international organizations. As the former capital, it is also home to many German federal ministries and agencies.
