3. Statement of motivation, answering the following questions (1 page max):
   Why are you applying?
   What are your career goals?
   What are your qualifications?
   Why did you choose ZEI’s MES program?
4. Copy of graduate certificate and academic transcript. ZEI accepts documents in English, German and French only. Please submit a certified translation if necessary. Applicants who graduate shortly before the program begins may submit their diploma at a later date.
5. Certification of fluency in English
   ZEI accepts TOEFL and IELTS (or equivalent, at least Level C 1 from the European Common Framework of Reference for Languages)
   Native speakers will automatically be considered proficient in their respective languages.
   Proof of proficiency in English will be deemed fulfilled if the applicant has completed a regular course of studies of at least two semesters in an English-language course of studies or at an institution of higher education in an English-speaking country, as long as the course of studies was held predominantly in English.
6. Reference from employer or internship confirmation
   We require evidence of your work experience of either 1 or 2 years (see admission requirements above). For this, we require a letter from your employer or a reference which states when you were employed and in which role.
7. Copy of your passport

Please note: ZEI can only consider complete applications. Documents will not be returned. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that if submitting via email we still require you to post a hard copy of the completed application form and your curriculum vitae in order for your application to be complete.

Please assemble all the required application documents into one PDF-file (maximum size: 20 MB) and send it in one single e-mail to europeanstudies.zei@uni-bonn.de

The name of the PDF-file and the subject of the e-mail should contain your name in the following way: Lastname, Firstname_Application 2021 (Smith, John_Application2021)

January 15: There is an early admission round for complete applications handed in by January 15 (postmark).

Applications from candidates who are not successful in the early admission round will be reviewed again with all other applications in the main admission round after March 15, 2021. Those applying in the early admission round will be notified about the decision of ZEI's admission's board by late February via post or email.

March 15: Deadline for submission of applications (postmark).

April: Candidates will be notified about the decision of ZEI’s admission’s board via post or email.

Candidates who have been selected for the waiting list will still have the chance to be selected and invited for a place in ZEI's Master program during summer, if candidates who have been selected in the first selection rounds withdraw their applications.

by end-July: Closure of the selection procedure and final notification.
